"Lone Bather 1 - Emma"
Acrylic on Panel
8x10"
September 2006
From The Artist:
I loved to draw as a child, and I often drew tall and lanky ballerinas, with extended torsos and limbs and small round breasts. These women most always had buns in their hair and wore next to nothing. I loved the line of the figure and how I could stretch it to the extent of my imagination. I delighted in "watching" these women as they danced and stretched around on my sketchbook pages.
When Emma popped up on my paint panel I was delighted and thoroughly enjoyed crafting her figure. I realize that she and the bathers to follow her have come to me from my grade school days.
