Message from the Artist:
There is a passion and intimacy between mother and child – I sometimes imply it by saying I want to absorb my sons – because it's hard to describe. Its strength is tactile, its pull gravitational, its emotion swells beneath my breast bone – I can’t describe it in spoken words, I may not be able to write it, I can only attempt to paint it – and infuse the essence into the finished piece.

My son climbs into our bed every morning – he claims it’s his favorite time of the day and sighs loudly as he tucks his cold little feet between my shins for warmth. It’s sometimes the hardest part of the day for me because it means it’s near time to get up – sometimes – but it is such a delicious moment.
