Message from the Artist:
I was reading Twyla Tharp’s book The Creative Habit one day and I was suddenly gripped by an impulse to grab my largest canvas and start this painting – despite the fact that I was planning to do just a little reading before bed! I felt the emotion pulling from my chest as I quickly worked the composition onto the canvas – sitting on the floor because the painting area in my studio was already crowded with other paintings. As I worked, I felt my brush and my thoughts and the intensity healing me, feeding me, from the inside out – it’s a hard feeling to describe. There was intensity around this painting, still is – and I feel a certain kind of heat in my heart when I “read” it. Based loosely on Swoon, it took me a bit, after completion, to tap back into the initial intense urges in order to uncover the title for this painting. This is interesting because frequently my paintings begin based upon an arrangement of words.
