This painting stems from my Bathers series. After spending an evening with a friend of mine, I drove home with the urge to paint her. Of course, she shall remain nameless and unaware. The beauty of curves and shapes had me mesmerized throughout the process of this piece - which may contribute to the positive feedback received on this painting.

I had recently been listening to Johnathan Edwards' song and began to feel a sadness from this woman emerging onto my painting panel. Thus, came the title, the umbrella and the suggestion of weather.
